Network Care

Ever shied off going to a Chiropractor because you didn’t want your spine ‘manipulated’, ever wanted a form of care which didn’t treat your body like a punch bag or a pin cushion. Network Care is what you are looking for. Network Care is a hands off approach that is showing amazing results.

Network Care, formerly known as Network Spinal Analysis, is carried out only by registered chiropractors but eschews their normal hands on approach. Simply it trains the brain to do the necessary readjustments to the spine in a gradual and controlled way. This way the spine is adjusted to its ideal shape allowing the nerves to do their work properly and allowing all the inbuilt tension to be released.

It was developed in the USA by Chiropractor Dr Donald Epstein and is now practiced all over the world by chiropractors such as Dr Ari Diskin at his Diskin Life Centre in Melbourne, Australia. At Diskin Life Dr Diskin works with as many as a dozen people at a time to ‘entrain’ them and their spine. Over a period of time the muscles holding the spine re-adjust themselves , easing tension here and taking some tension there. It all happens with hardly a touch, working on the subconscious mind and identifying for the mind where adjustments need to be made.

The process operates using the concept of Wellness. It does not treat people or conditions and does not attempt to reverse symptoms in the body. It regards symptoms as a sign that something is wrong and a sign that your body is trying to say something to you. Wellness is a Holistic concept where the conditions exist in your bodymind that allow it to operate at full capacity. This means that the body is well able to deal with issues that come up, such as viral infections, through its normal operation.

Network Care’s contribution to this is to ensure the spine is in its normal shape allowing all the nerves to operate at full capacity. This is a more important process than it seems. The spine houses the spinal cord, the central communications extension of the brain. All communications to and from the brain go via the spinal cord. Damage to this has severe consequences on your body’s ability to function normally. The most severe example of damage is paralysis.

Throughout life your spine is subject to physical shocks and damage, all of which can have effects on our nerve ways. In addition the psychological shocks and challenges that we are subject to get stored in the muscles holding the spine in tension. This operates as a defence mechanism that endeavours to protect the spine from damage. This tension builds over time and lasts far longer than the associated challenge or danger. Eventually the body hides the source of the tension in the subconscious mind but retains the tension. Over time this stiffens the spine often causing pain and discomfort.

Network Care works to release this tension and, in the process, release the associated trauma. Causing the course of treatment it is common for past emotional and other traumas to be released to the surprise of the person being treated.

I recently had care from Ari Diskin and I can report that the results are amazing. I had severe joint pains and stiffness. Network Care helped to release my old patterns and allow me to let go of many issues holding me back. In the process the pains and stiffness rapidly reduced as I found a renewed approach to life. the wonderful part was not so much that my symptoms were dramatically reduced but that was able to truly let go of all that was holding me back. That was truly a gift for me.

The Yoga of Sound

August 31, 2008

Language only comprises 7% of communication. This must pale into insignificance when it comes to music and singing. The depth of communication inherent in spiritual music amongst those experiencing it together is immense. This is particularly so when you are part of the creation of the music. Mantra singing is especially interesting because the element of language is removed for most people. Singing Sanskrit Mantras provides a deep soul connection and a definite shift in consciousness. It is powerful and enlivening.

I am spending the weekend at the Omega Institute at Rhinebeck in upstate New York at the Ecstatic Chant weekend. The weekend is totally dedicated to Mantra singing and music and it is a deeply spiritual event. It’s now about 2 o’clock in the morning and the music will continue for over another  3 hours. We started at 9 o’clock this morning and have had an amazing variety of music throughout the day. The highlights have been the well known names of Krishna Das and Deval Premal. KD has, particularly, provided a backbone to the event with his amazing baritone voice and his easy flowing style. He flows from mantra to mantra, from rhythm to rhythm without flinching. A  continuous set of 2 hours from him is an experience not to be missed.

There are powerful voices such as Shyamdas and Jai Uttal as well as the more modern Wah! and MC Yogi. It is interesting to hear Mantra singing crossed with Rap music, I’m not sure it totally worked for me. There are 500 people here singing, dancing and just listening, enjoying the spiritual connection, making new friends and just experiencing life.

This amazing blessing called music. We need to keep flowing with the music as it is right now, it keeps bringing us back to the present moment, to now. It brings us into a space where we are in the presence of and connected to the eternal. At this precise moment in time people are arriving and departing on this planet. The cycle of life and breathing continues while music reminds us to live, to be in the moment, to enjoy what we have and where we are. What else do we need.
